Hello. I’ve been a writer and photographer for around 30 years and I’d love to share with you my passion for photography, wildlife and travel. Please explore these pages to find out about my one-to-one photography workshops in the Cotswolds, Cornwall and the Lake District, as well as small-group photo tours in Iceland and Namibia. SO, WHO ARE YOU...?

OK, here’s some blurb… An award-winning journalist, author and photographer, William Gray has 30 years' experience working for magazine publishers, conservation organisations and as a widely-published freelancer. A zoologist, conservationist and passionate advocate of responsible tourism, he has received over 20 journalism awards, including AITO Travel Writer of the Year and BGTW Travel Photographer of the Year.

 

Will has written for numerous publications, from National Geographic Traveler and The Sunday Times to BBC WildlifeWanderlust and Travel Africa. Will’s books include the bestselling Travel with Kids, Cornwall with Kids and Wildlife Travel (Footprint) – his latest book, Family Wildlife Adventures (Bradt Travel Guides) was published in 2021 and he is currently working on Photographing Britain and Costa Rica Wildlife Travel Guide, also by Bradt.

 

Around 1,000 of Will's travel, landscape and wildlife photographs are represented by leading picture library, AWL Images, while his photography workshops are available in the Cotswolds, Cornwall and Lake District, as well as Iceland and Namibia. An experienced speaker, Will was a presenter on the BBC Holiday programme and regularly gives talks and seminars at shows like Destinations in London and Manchester. He is a longstanding judge in the Wanderlust magazine Travel Photographer of the Year competition.
