Below you will find a small collection of some of my favourite photographs taken on various trips to Alaska. It's a dream destination for landscape and wildlife photographers. If you're thinking of visiting, I would definitely recommend Denali National Park – but try to stay overnight at one of the wilderness lodges in Kantishna, so you can photograph Mt Denali at dawn the following morning for the best light conditions.

 

A floatplane excursion to Lake Clark is also a great choice for photographers – it's cheaper than visiting Katmai, and you still get great opportunities for photographing black bears foraging around the lake shore. For grizzly bears, however, nothing can match Brook Falls in Katmai!

 

One of my favourite spots in Alaska is Homer. Not only is this little fishing and tourist community full of character, but it's also the departure point for water taxis across Kachemak Bay. You can plan a hiking or sea kayaking trip in the Kachemak State Park, explore old-growth forest and get a real feel for the Alaskan wilderness.
